I'm pleased to announce the addition of 2 new lessons:

I'm very pleased to announce the display of the high scores for the lesson and for all the Thai words at the end of a quiz.

The image below gives an example. In this there is a new high score of 4.2 mastered words for the lesson (for example the lesson of Verbs, or the lesson on Animals). There is also a high score of 23.9 mastered Thai words; this shows the level of mastery of all the Thai words in the system.

You might well have noticed that on the home page when you are not logged in the following video:

It's not quite Hollywood, but I think it makes a nice addition.

The way quiz answers are displayed has been improved by the removal of the Thai script.

This may seem strange that removing something can improve it, but the reason I think it improves things is that, unless doing the quiz for reading or writing, the emphasis should be on listening. Therefore, the student should be listening very carefully to the audio and not trying to read the Thai text.

Below is an example of the new, simplified, quiz answer format.

Since my blog post in May celebrating 1800 recordings, I'm pleased to say we've added over 1000 new recordings and have now well over 2800!

I have hugely simplified the display of the results at the end of taking a quiz. Here is the new look:

I am pleased to announce the addition of a dedicated "Lesson Quiz" tab for lessons:

I think this is a lot clearer to have on its own tab.

This also simplifies the "Lesson Summary" tab which has had the "Lesson Quiz" content removed:

I am very pleased to announce the addition of Dutch to the Lingopolo family, joining its Thai and French siblings!

In fact the Dutch site is currently very small compared to the other Lingopolo sites. Here is a list of how many recordings each site has (the numbers are accurate at the moment of writing and will likely have changed by the time you look):

I'm very pleased to introduce prerequisite checking, a way to make sure you know what you need to know, when you need to know it.

What this means is that Lingopolo will keep an eye on what words you already know (or, rather, what words you don't yet know), and will make sure they are revised before it lets you go further.

I am very pleased to announce a completely new type of lesson: examples of a particular word in use.

Perhaps the easiest way to understand this lesson is to look at a few examples:
