Work on the old words, before the new

Unpublished recordings

There are typically many words and phrases in progress at any one time. The question therefore natually arises: which of all the words and phrases should I be working on next? The answer is basically simple: whichever has been waiting to get published the longest. The oldest word or phrase should take priority. The other more recent words/phrases will get their turn at the front of the queue!

To know which is the oldest unpublished word or phrase is easy: from the Editor's Links menu there is a link called Unpublished recordings. Note in particular the last column "Post date". This is the date the recording was published. You will see that the list is sorted so that the oldest one is first in the list. Therefore, this is the order in which you should be always starting your efforts.

Existing words probably with problems

There are a number of other links in the Editor's Links menu which help to make sure that all the existing words/phrases are correct. That is, that they all have recordings and are correctly classified. These lists are:

There may be a good reason why a particular word/phrase is in one of these lists, but very often it is simply that the word/phrase is incorrectly classified.

In that case, please correct the error. Note again here the priority is these existing words/phrases rather than newer ones.

Work on the old words, before the new

The basic guidance is to work on the old words, before the new. The aim should be for quality, before quantity. The aim is to make sure that always all of the words/phrases that are half started, get finished. The aim is that existing words/phrases which are missing some classification or have some incorrect classification have this corrected.
