Piff! Paff! (paragraph)
“Piff! Paff!” it sounded, and the two wild gannets fell dead in the reeds, and the water turned blood red.
“Piff! Paff!” it sounded again, and now whole flocks of wild geese were flying out of the reeds.
And then another bang was heard.
A great hunt was held; the hunters lay around the swamp; yes, some sat up in the branches of the trees, which stretched far over the reed.
The blue vapor drifted in thick clouds into the trees and far over the water; the hunting dogs went into the swamp.
Splash, splash! the reed bent in every direction.
That was a fright for the poor duckling.
It turned its head to put it under his wings; but at the same moment there was a terribly big dog close to the duckling.
His tongue hung out of his mouth, and his eyes shot flames; he just stretched towards the duckling, showed his sharp teeth and ...
Splash! Splash! it went again, without him grabbing it.
